5 ways to win a QuiBids auction

Posted in Bidding Tips on 09.01.13 by Merlyn

Want to find out the quickest, simplest, easiest-to-use ways to win a QuiBids auction? They’re all right here!

1. Using Bid-O-Matic
The Bid-O-Matic function is an inexact but nonetheless effective way to rack up the auction wins on QuiBids. It’s also one of the most basic and commonly used tools on the site, and there are a lot of different ways to incorporate it into your QuiBids strategy. Check out a couple YouTube videos below that each discuss different ways to use it.

2. Using Voucher Bids
The cool thing about Voucher Bids on QuiBids is that you can —theoretically— never run out of them, and thereby never have to spend any actual money. There are loads of ways to score Voucher Bids for free: referring friends, being a dedicated follower of QuiBids’ social media accounts, earning QuiBids Badges and Gameplays, and simply winning auctions for Voucher Bids. Gather up enough Voucher Bids consistently and you’ll be a force to be reckoned with when it comes to time to bid.

3. Using Real Bids
Real Bids are the surest way to shop on QuiBids. Unlike Voucher Bids, they do count toward a product’s Buy Now price, so the worst-case scenario when you’re bidding with Real Bids is paying retail.

4. Using one bid
It happens. A lot! But it requires a lot of skill, so much so that we created the Win-in-One Badge to celebrate such a victory.

5. Using a lot of bids
Grinding it out is a totally valid and consistently effective strategy that can pay off big in the long haul. Like we said earlier, the Bid-O-Matic is instrumental to this: It’s like swinging a big, heavy mallet to drive a stake into the ground. It’s taxing, but it’ll eventually get the job done.

Use QuiBids to keep your car tank fueled

Posted in Bidding Tips on 24.04.12 by Merlyn

With all the crazy-huge items QuiBids customers win all the time, it’s often really easy to neglect the smaller-scale success stories our auctions inspire on a daily basis. Playing small-ball has proven itself an excellent QuiBids tactic, one that a lot of our users employ to regular success here, and when it’s coupled with a patient spending strategy, small-time wins can grow into big-time wins over time, as one of our more recent QuiBidders of the Week proved a couple of weeks ago.

With a sudden influx of auctions for gift cards good for gasoline at Shell, Sunoco, ExxonMobil, BP, and other gas stations, we realized that the careful QuiBidder can — by applying a similar strategy — keep their gas tank topped off each month.

Think about it: how much money do you spend each week getting to and from work or school (or both), picking up the kids, running errands, etc.? Several of our employees carpool to the QuiBids office every day from Oklahoma City’s surrounding suburbs, so we know how far a $25 gas card can go. It’s a considerable chunk of your monthly expenses, one that can balloon out of control if you’re getting less than 20 miles to the gallon on the highway.

So let QuiBids help you out! Gift cards to gas stations have recently become a staple of our site, and careful, precise users have been able to scoop them up for as little as a few bids at a time!

Really, how hard is it to win a single auction every week? If you focus on playing small-ball with $10 and $25 gift cards to gas stations, they’ll add up to plenty of savings on your trips to the pump. Maybe you’ll even be able to cancel out that chunk of the monthly budget if you haul in enough gas cards.

So just like Wendi M. eventually won that HDTV by pooling together her smaller auctions, you can keep your gas tank topped off by picking off out-of-the-way auctions for small-time gift cards. Here are a few upcoming auctions, so get at it and let us know how this strategy works out for you in the comments. Happy bidding!

How QuiBids Works

QuiBids is not a scam and actually a great entertainment retail auction website.  If you’re familiar with auction websites you know that you can win prizes for merely pennies, but with QuiBids they take their website to the next level so all their members can leave a winner.  QuiBids has added a “Buy Now” option giving you the opportunity to purchase items in featured auctions at the value price immediately.

QuiBids is a great website to get major brands and products at extremely low prices! Time to start the Bids!

Retail Auctions

Posted in Bidding Tips, Features on 26.05.11 by Merlyn

Entertainment Retail Auction sites are a relatively new industry. They initially derived from the traditional penny auction industry model, having evolved into its current industry model. Therefore, Entertainment Retail Auction sites differ from the traditional penny auction sites through a variety of factors.

The primary reason for an auction site to be considered an entertainment retail auction site, is the prevalence of a buy out option offered to consumers, sometimes known as Buy it Now or BuyNow feature.  Some sites may have differing names for this feature but essentially work the same. i.e.) Swoopo’s former “Swoop it Now” and QuiBids’ “BuyNow.” These sites need to have this buy out feature implemented at least in 80% of its auctions.  An auction site is essentially another online retailor.  Consumers do not have to walk away empty-handed from participating in any of these auctions.

Another differentiation is the presence of games or entertainment features on the site.  i.e.) QuiBids has Achievements, QLive and coming soon, games.  QuiBids’ Achievements, also known as Badges, are a great way to gain experience on the site, set goals, show one’s skills and earn rewards (such as additional free bids).  QLive is an interactive map that shows where the bids are coming from around the U.S.  Games are coming soon, but will offer another way to obtain free bids.
