Start your own band with QuiBids

QuiBids sells all sorts of instruments — like stuff you can use to do your math homework or turn delicious fruit into just-as-delicious juice — but did you know that we sell the kind that you play your way to rockstardom with, too?

It’s true. While we’re certainly no high-end retailer of finely crafted instruments, we do auction off beginners’ stuff you can learn on. Everybody’s gotta start somewhere right? I mean, it sure is a ton more dignified than playing Guitar Hero.

Anyway, let’s take a quick look at some of the musical instruments you could win with QuiBids.

When it comes to guitars, we’ve currently got two for you to choose from, but they’re both aimed at beginners. First is the U.S. Acoustic Guitar Starter Pack for Dummies, which — despite an unfortunate lack of 50-foot-high speakers or whammy bar — you can still use to great effect, but only if you first spend some time with the CD-assisted Guitar Basics for Dummies book. The set also comes with a digital tuner, gig bag, and a couple of picks. (That’s the thing you use to strum the strings, newbie.)

Second is the Learn to Play Guitar pack, which comes with most of the same stuff, save for the instructional booklet. It does come with a CD though, which includes the sheet music for both Bob Dylan’s awesome song “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” and Guns N’ Roses’ terrible cover of it, Rod Stewart’s “Downtown Train,” and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s hit “Midnight Special.”

Want to be a rock star but feel not-so-confident about standing up on a stage and whipping wild crowds into a lusty excitement?  Then maybe you should learn the drums instead. This PDP 5-Piece Drum Kit’s perfect for beginners, and even better for wild-man drummers looking for an extra set to trash at the end of their show, a la Keith Moon.

And lastly, we also sell baby guitars! Well, they’re actually ukuleles, but they do make for some super-precious songs. Just ask Eddie Vedder!
